Thoughts after 9
#1
Peter North Stars
248.6 (8-1) This team is one of the three goliaths this year that
is enjoying the best of both worlds, high scoring, and lucky on the
weeks they are not. Comparison Sharks
#2
Hanson Brothers
247.19 (6-3) Another scoring goliath that has not been as lucky as PNS
but is a monster that needs to be watched all week when playing, none
the less. Comparison Capitals
#3
Omaha Knows Hockey
238.59 (6-3) Third in our series of Goliath scorers that have been
less lucky as the first two with the matchups and the injuries with
Brodeur etc. Comparison Canucks
#4
Goal Hangers
219.16 (4-5) Started out the season like they ended last year,
horrible, but then came on and has achieved real solid scoring growth
how long will it last? Comparison Flames
#5
Cellmates 215.68
(4-5) Horrible draft, used all twelve transactions, has Briere,
Stillman, Luongo all injured still manages to be 5th in scoring and
middle of the pack record. Comparison Predators
#6
Ice Holes 209.18
(3-5-1) Good players and lineups but having the worst luck with
schedule of any of the middle pack teams. Comparison Maple Leafs
#7
Red Ice 209.06
(5-4) Started the year on fire with huge Goon, Center, and Goalie
Play, after a few injuries and suspensions along with Goalie cooling
off has struggled. Comparison Sabres
#8
Hell's Frozen Over
205.56 (4-5) Consistently hovers around .500 and is still a team
seeking the right combo of players week after week, lack of solid
goalie + others has hurt. Comparison Avalanche
#9
All Stars 183.11
(2-7) Easily the worst luck with the schedule i.e.: 9th in scoring but
last in record. Lots of sevens and eights on team but no big stars.
T. Thomas should help. Comparison Lightning
#10
Caucasian Invasion 181.56 (4-5) Schedule has
been kind to team as they are loaded top to bottom with AHL stars that
simply have not matured yet, look for them in 2010. Comparison
Coyotes
#11
Irishman 178.07
(3-6) Beat me last week after putting in first lineup change in 4
weeks and then did not change again this week (bitter? u betcha),
Players are in all wrong spots and team needs better management
especially considering that draft went so well. Comparison Blues
#12
Ice Bandits 177.55
(4-4-1) Draft was solid but not spectacular, and lineups have been
getting more dynamic as of late as has the scoring totals. Should
continue to improve. Comparison Oilers
Other than the three
Goliaths, there are way to many teams in flux to take any meaningful
guess at Play-off structure right now. See you in week 18
when we should know a whole lot more as the league gets ready to run
the last 4 weeks towards the finish.
