Seven completed weeks. All 980 starting-slot results across 98 team-weeks have been rechecked against the seven weekly pages. Week 7 recovered to 1,160 points : offensive lines nearly doubled their Week 6 production, running backs and receivers improved, and quarterbacks posted another season low.

Week 7 averaged 82.86 per team , up 7.57 from Week 6. It was still the second-lowest scoring week of the season. The prior six-week average was 87.77 per team; Week 7 was 4.92 below that pace.

The Fairer Comparison: Points per Start

Every lineup has two RB and three WR slots. Dividing points by starts compares the output of one slot. Each week has 14 QB, 28 RB, 42 WR, 14 TE, 14 K, 14 DEF and 14 OL starts.

What Changed in Bambi’s Lab?

QB: A Second Step Down

Quarterbacks fell from 240 to 236 , a new season low of 16.86 per start . Joe Burrow led Week 7 with 36, followed by Drake Maye’s 29. Patrick Mahomes scored one and Cam Ward two. The cumulative QB average is 18.92, still the highest of any slot.

RB: Recovery, with Plenty of Empty Slots

Running backs climbed from 141 to 185 (+44) , or 6.61 per start. Utter Dominance’s pair delivered 37, including Tony Pollard’s 27. Horsemen got zero from both RB slots. The seven-week RB average is 6.55.

WR: Better, Still Last per Start

Receivers rose from 139 to 176 (+37) , averaging 4.19. Buffalo 66’s three receivers supplied 40 and Gamblers’ trio 27. Co’s Pros, Horsemen and Utter Dominance each got zero from all three WR slots. The cumulative WR average remains 4.52, lowest of the seven positions.

TE: McBride Carries a Lot of Weight

Tight ends fell from 158 to 143 , or 10.21 per start. Trey McBride scored 31, Colston Loveland 22 and George Kittle 20: together 73 of 143 (51.05%) . The other eleven TE slots averaged 6.36. Across seven weeks, TE averages 10.46.

K: Still Productive, Far from Automatic

Kickers declined from 177 to 159 , averaging 11.36. Wil Lutz led with 21, Brandon Aubrey had 19, while Harrison Butker scored zero and Trey Smack one. The seven-week average is 12.10, second only to QB. Week 7 WRs outscored kickers in total, 176–159, but used three times as many slots.

DEF: The Goats Got the Ceiling

Defenses fell from 121 to 112 , or 8.00 per start. Tampa Bay supplied 29 for Goats and Minnesota 21 for Endzone Animals. Houston scored -3 and Tennessee -2. The seven-week average is 9.15; a positive league total does not mean the individual selections were safe.

OL: The Biggest Rebound

Offensive lines jumped from 78 to 149 (+71; +91.0%) , or 10.64 per start. Tampa Bay OL scored 30 for Endzone Animals, the Rams 17 for Terry Shiavos and Denver 15 for Horsemen. OL accounted for 66.98% of the net league rebound. Its cumulative average is 9.77.

Cumulatively, QB, K, TE, OL and DEF remain above the overall 8.71 points per start. RB and WR remain below it. Week 7’s order was QB, K, OL, TE, DEF, RB, WR.

All 980 recorded starts, including zeroes and negatives. Median is the middle result; standard deviation describes the spread of these observed scores.

The empty-slot finding: WR starts scored zero 42.52% of the time (125 of 294); RB starts scored zero 29.08% (57 of 196). Defenses were negative in 17.35% of starts (17 of 98). These rates describe the recorded lineups, including inactive or otherwise unproductive starters.

These are distributions of lineup-slot outcomes, not repeated trials for a single player. Zeroes can reflect inactive starters, injuries, byes or simply no scoring production; the weekly pages do not identify the cause for every zero. Standard deviation uses the complete observed sample (population formula).

The Bambi Finding

1 The recovery was real, but incomplete.

Week 7 added 106 points over Week 6, yet its 1,160 total still trails every Week 1–5 total. OL, RB and WR generated a combined 152-point improvement; the other four groups erased 46 of those points.

2 K, DEF and OL still command more than a third of the pool.

These three single-slot groups have scored 3,040 points from 294 starts : 35.63% of points from 30% of slots. Their combined 10.34 per start exceeds the league average of 8.71.

3 Half the lineup still produces less than a third of the points.

RB and WR have combined for 2,614 points from 490 starts : 30.63% of points from 50% of slots. Their combined per-start average is 5.33. Volume of mandatory starting spots is not the same as scoring power.

4 A winning team can survive an entire silent unit.

Utter Dominance won 88–78 despite zero points from all three receivers. Pollard and Swift combined for 37; Stafford added 21. Buffalo 66’s WR group alone generated 40 in its 93–72 win.

5 Cellmates’ rebound came from the headline players.

Cellmates rose from 48 to 107, a 59-point recovery. McBride (31), Aubrey (19), Stroud (17), Judkins (16) and Jameson Williams (16) supplied 99 of 107 (92.52%). Chicago DEF and Baltimore OL combined for just six.

6 A 30-point offensive line can change a matchup.

Endzone Animals beat Bohemians 107–69. Tampa Bay OL’s 30 and Minnesota DEF’s 21 combined for 51 points; that is 47.66% of the winning score from two slots. Those two units outscored the entire 50-point Horsemen lineup.

Bambi’s seven-week conclusion: QB still leads the scoring economy. K, TE, OL and DEF deserve real attention because their per-slot production exceeds the league average. RB and WR improved this week, but the cumulative math has not changed its verdict. This is evidence about scoring structure—not proof that any available kicker or line is more valuable than an elite skill player.

Method, Sample Size & Score Audit

What is counted: the recorded Total for every starting slot on all seven official weekly pages. Bench players are excluded. Zero and negative scores count as published. Position follows the starting slot. The underlying yardage and component scoring have not been recalculated against NFL statistics.

Denominator: 14 teams × 10 starting slots × 7 weeks = 980 starts , representing 98 team-weeks. There are 98 starts each at QB, TE, K, DEF and OL, 196 at RB, and 294 at WR.

Kicker 2.0: eligible same-team punting points are already included in recorded kicker totals. They remain in K without adding a roster slot.

Source recheck: all seven weekly pages were downloaded again on October 27, 2026. The Weeks 1–6 position totals match the prior lab exactly; Week 7 adds 140 newly audited starts.

Week 4 flag, now isolated: Cellmates’ ten starter rows total 98; its published final is 97. The other 13 Week 4 teams reconcile, including Incubus. The older lab’s broader reference to an Incubus issue is not supported by the current page. The positional model retains all recorded starter scores, so Week 4 remains 1,282 row points versus 1,281 published-final points.

Standings differences: Goodfellas shows 634 PF versus 632 from its weekly finals (+2); Cellmates shows 624 versus 625 (−1); Gamblers shows 669 versus 668 (+1). The other eleven PF totals match their weekly finals. Standings PF and PA both total 8,534. Recorded starter points total 8,533, while weekly finals total 8,532. No positional points have been invented to force those ledgers to agree.

Interpretation: seven weeks show clear scoring differences across slots, but the sample remains affected by injuries, byes and unusually large games. Efficiency compares output, not draft cost, scarcity or points above replacement. Team totals use recorded rows even where a source discrepancy remains.
