BAMBI'S BOOK

Point spreads, bad decisions & unsolicited advice

2026 REGULAR SEASON PREVIEW • WEEK 1 IS NEXT
ROMEY.COM FANTASY FOOTBALL • EST. 1991
PRESEASON IS OVER. NOW THE LINES COUNT.
From The Desk Of Bambi - Opening Bell

The preseason circus is over, the trophy has been decided, and now Bambi's Book turns its attention to the part of the schedule that actually hurts: the 2026 regular season.

Starting with Week 1, every Romey.com matchup gets a Bambi point spread. No reputation points. No sympathy points. The number will be built around the matchup in front of us.

WEEK 1: BAMBI'S FIRST REGULAR-SEASON BOARD
EVERY MATCHUP. EVERY LINE. EVERY OWNER HAS SOMETHING TO COMPLAIN ABOUT.
Bambi says: The preseason was the warm-up. Week 1 is when I start putting numbers next to your mistakes.
How Bambi Will Set The Weekly Point Spreads

Each week I intend to look at the things that actually matter to that week's fantasy matchup: projected NFL usage, injuries, depth-chart movement, expected opportunities, recent scoring, positional advantages, lineup strength and the quality of the opposing NFL matchups.

The goal is simple: estimate how many points separate the two Romey.com teams, then publish the line before the week's games begin.

What Bambi WatchesWhy It Moves The Line
Projected LineupsWho is actually starting and how much scoring opportunity those players should have.
Injuries & NFL RolesA questionable star, a new starter or a sudden workload change can move a matchup quickly.
Recent ProductionWhat a team is actually scoring matters more than what its roster looked like in June.
NFL MatchupsGood and bad real-world matchups affect expected fantasy scoring at every position.
Roster Strength & DepthThe complete lineup matters. One superstar does not automatically make a team the favorite.
Late NewsMajor injury, benching or role news can trigger a revised line before kickoff.
The Weekly Board - Starting Week 1

Every regular-season week, Bambi's Book will post the league's matchup board with a favorite, an underdog and a point spread. Along with the number, I'll explain why the line is where it is.

A TYPICAL BAMBI LINEHORSEMEN -4.5 vs. CELLMATES
Projected edge: Horsemen
Bambi's read: matchup advantage at RB and WR, but enough volatility to keep Romey within striking distance.

Example only. Week 1 lines will be based on the actual Week 1 matchups and available information.

Bambi says: If your team is favored, you'll tell everyone I finally understand football. If you're +11.5, suddenly artificial intelligence is destroying America.
Bambi's Weekly Card

The spreads are only the beginning. Each week the Book will also identify the games and owners that deserve a little extra attention.

FeatureWhat It Means
Game of the WeekThe matchup with the biggest combination of standings importance, rivalry and projected drama.
Lock of the WeekBambi's favorite side of the weekly board. This will be tracked against the spread.
Upset SpecialAn underdog Bambi thinks has a legitimate chance to win outright.
Danger LineA spread that looks easy until you actually examine the matchup.
Owner on the Hot SeatBecause somebody will inevitably deserve it.
Market MoversTeams whose performance, injuries or lineup changes materially alter their value from the prior week.
Bambi Versus The League

Once Week 1 begins, the Book will keep a running record of how Bambi performs against her own spreads. The Lock of the Week record will be tracked separately, and the numbers stay on the page whether they make Bambi look brilliant or ridiculous.

LINES POSTED • PICKS MADE • RESULTS TRACKED

Bambi says: Unlike the owners, I don't get to explain on Tuesday that my lineup would have won if six completely different things had happened.
Lines Can Move

The first number posted is the opening line. If meaningful NFL news changes the matchup before the games begin, Bambi can move it. Major injuries, unexpected inactive players, depth-chart changes and sudden workload news can turn a three-point favorite into a pick'em.

When a line changes materially, the page will show the movement so everyone can see where the matchup opened and where Bambi ultimately landed.

Bambi says: If your quarterback loses his starting job on Friday, I reserve the right to notice.
Week 1 Mission Statement
THE FIRST REGULAR-SEASON POINT SPREADS ARE COMING.
NO PRESEASON EXCUSES. NO REPUTATION LINES. JUST THE MATCHUPS.

Week 1 will establish the opening market for all 14 teams. From there, every week gives us more information: who is actually good, who merely looked good in August, who is getting unlucky, and who drafted a roster that should probably be investigated by an independent commission.

Bambi says: Fourteen teams enter Week 1. Thirteen owners will eventually claim my line was disrespectful. I like those odds.
BAMBI'S BOOK IS FOR ROMEY.COM LEAGUE ENTERTAINMENT.
THE POINT SPREADS ARE FANTASY-FOOTBALL OPINIONS, NOT REAL SPORTSBOOK WAGERING LINES.
IF YOU SOMEHOW LOSE THE HOUSE ON THIS, WE HAVE MUCH LARGER QUESTIONS.
Coming Next - Week 1

The opening 2026 regular-season board: every Week 1 matchup, every point spread, Game of the Week, Lock of the Week, Upset Special, Hot Seat and Bambi's first official picks against the spread.

Bambi says: Congratulations on surviving the preseason. Your record is 0-0 again. Try not to ruin it immediately.
